Born in Sliema in 1951. My parents immigrated to the UK in February of 1962

My interest in Art became quite obvious from an early stage as most youngster do, mine started at around 6 years old when I began to copy religious images from books my mother use to give me.

My time in the UK was a difficult in the beginning I remember I couldn’t communicate well at that time as my English was poor. In my first school when I was 10 my teacher gave me a piece of paper and pencil to pass the time and I started to draw everything around me.

In senior school my English having much improved so did my education, art was for me a way to go I remember when I was 13 or so a friend and myself where the only once good at drawing and painting so much so that we that we depicted a painting of Gulliver Travel just as he was tied up by the Lilliputians, this painting was about 8 ft. by 4 ft. we had to stand on chairs to complete the picture.

Winning many prices at the time year in year out for Art it encouraged me to continue, however after school money was short and mum and Dad had six mouths to feed work became the priority,

Just before leaving school a college approach to take Art as a subject I refused at the time, a decision I have always regretted.

During the prevailing years I always kept in touch with Art, visiting Galleries and painting and drawing when I could.

I have many influences from the great renaissance painter Titian, Van Gough to Picasso and through Pollock. All these and more a great influences in my painting. More recently I have discovered a master living today by the name of David Leffel an American who uses the old Dutch style of painting. I have used this style of painting in many of my Still life.

My artistic philosophy therefore is to use nature at its greatest and worst to use human emotion to its full extent and to achieve painting that can people can appreciate whatever their taste in painting is.
